We met Monica summer of '07 when she taught my daughter Madalyn how to swim. We spent two summers at her house, and enjoyed chatting with other families while we waited. Always with the most beautiful smile and such positive energy, we loved coming to Miss Monica's, chatting, and tasting the fruit from her Brazilian fruit tree. She had a way with everyone, especially the kids. It is hard to believe such a person who was so full of life is no longer with us in the physical sense. We cherish our memories with her in our hearts. What a beautiful soul who touched so many. I believe in the power of prayer. Please know I will continue to keep your family in mine.

Dave and boys, Monica and I had a special bond because of the terrible disease that took her much too soon. She was there for me when I needed comfort. There were those special times we shared in Dani's bedroom. I remember her telling me," I love my family so much". Knowing Monica is to love her,I will miss our talks to comfort each other. May the terrible disease of breast cancer be a terrible memory with no other "Monica" leaving us too soon. Bonnie

Monica taught me to "Go for it!" She helped me overcome my fears. When I was 40 she taught me to swim. She was as kind to me as she was to all of her students. She changed my life. I will always consider her one of my greatest mentors and supporters. Anyone who had the privilege of meeting Monica was blessed. Dave, Caio and Ian, you are in our prayers daily. We are sending you strength and love as you deal with this difficult time in your life. May God bless you and keep you. We lost an angel on earth, but now we all have Monica watching over us.

Our family was blessed to have five years of lessons with Miss Monica. From the first day we met her, we loved her. She was a very rare and beautiful person, always so positive, so full of love and life. Our hearts are broken for Dave, Caio, Ian and Monica's parents. Words cannot express how sorry we are and how much we will miss her. Summer will never be the same without Miss Monica.

Monica was truly a positive person. She was always encouraging and energetic - full of life. And that's the way she will be remembered. She lives on in her children, her students, her husband and those whose life she touched. It was an honor to call her our friend. We were blessed to have her here on earth while we did. We cannot express in words our love for Monica who is now under the loving arm of God. She was an angel in every sense of the word. Never once did she say a bad word about anyone and always had a smile on her face. With the loss of our beautiful daughter Camille in January of 2008, we now feel comforted that Monica will be there to love and watch over her until we can all meet up again.

Ian, Caio and Dave we love you so much and understand your loss. Just remember Monica is not alone and neither are you. All our love Randy, Vivian, Isabella, Bianca and Camille.
