Nick BOROMEI Obituary

BOROMEI, Nick Anthony

of Knoxville, TN passed away Aug. 23, 2017. Nick was born in Miami, FL and spent his early years there. His family later moved to Tampa, where he graduated from H.B. Plant High School. During his high school and college years, he was a member of "Nick and the Royals" band, as well as "Mighty Manfred and the Wonderdogs". Later, he was part of "Hollywood on Tour" and "The Big Red Boat" shows, where he and his friend, Dan Downs performed as the Blues Brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie (Matassini) and Anthony Boromei, and his sister, Elvira Boromei. Nick is survived by his soulmate, Belinda and their three sons, Tony, Derek (Lauren), and Nick Jr. (Lynette); grandchildren, Anthony, Annamarie, Jessie Ann, and Isabel; sisters, Frances Hackert (Bill) and Rose Marie Bessent (Vaden); and many nieces and nephews, who loved him. NIck,
You were taken from us too soon, but I will always have the memories of our childhood in Miami.
Now you will get to see Mama and our daddy, whom you always wanted to know more about. Also, our sister, Elvira (Bebe),
Who loved you unconditionally.
Watch over us, little brother.
Your sister, Rose Marie

Dear Brother Nick,
I love you brother and will miss you. Great memories will always be with us. Memories of you buying your first car, practicing the trumpet, joining the band. Best of all you surprised us telling us you were going to be the singer. We have always been proud of you. Great memories forever.
Your sister,
Frances.

Nick was a good friend who I shared a close working relationship with as we toured the country performing together in a re-creation of the original Blues Brothers show. Nick was a consummate performer, a good family man and friend. God bless his memory, and his family.
