Mr. Bill, my heart broke when I heard that Mrs. Norma had gone to be with the Lord! You two made our transition here easier because she reached out when we did not know a soul. Please know that we are well and I pray that you are well also. I loved her so much and I miss you all every time I drive down Bidwell St. With that, I bid you well; as I know all is well, as she rests in the arms of the Father.

I love you so very much Grandma! I learned so much about life from you and I continue to learn about it through our loss. You are with me every day now and I can feel you near me - it is the only comfort I have and will have to suffice until we see each other again. I miss you.

Mr. Marsh and family; I was saddened to hear of the death of Mrs. Marsh. She taught me in the second grade at Jones County Elementary. I was also your neighbor on Virginia Avenue in Gray. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. May God comfort you in this time of loss. Terry Greene

Norma will be forever loved in our hearts. She was a dear friend, wonderful family and caring teacher to all who knew her whether you were 10 or 40 years old. I loved teaching and developing a creative and loving learning environment with her at McDonald Elementary. I treasured our Springtimes at Gloryland. Bill, you and Norma will always be held close to my heart. Sharon Mazzone

My sympathy is extended to Norma's family and her loved ones. She was such a very special lady to me. She loved life and being with children, and loved being amidst the glorious autumn colors in the mountains. I admired her grace which could change to childish laughter in an instant. It was a pleasure to teach with Norma at Alafia Elementary. Her life touched many, and she will be remembered in delightful ways.

Mrs. Marsh was my 2nd grade teacher in the Jones County school system in 1962. I still love to tell the story of the sand box she had in her classroom that contained a farm set and farm family. I loved the little man that carried the milk pails and one day I squeezed him tight in my hand and took him home with me. The next day, Mrs. Marsh told the class that the little man was missing from his family and if someone had accidentally taken him home, that she knew the little man would be happier if he was back with his family. I pulled the little man out of my pocket and tears rolled down my cheek because I loved that little man, but I knew I had to let him go back to his family where he was happy. I put the little man back in the sand box and told Mrs. Marsh he was back with his family. She winked at me and hugged me. Mrs. Marsh not only taught reading, writing, and Arithmetic. She taught me a valuable lesson that day. I'll never forget her.

Today I learned that one of the dearest and sweetest persons that I have been blessed to know and love passed away. That person is Norma Marsh. She was such an inspiration to me!! We attended and served at First Baptist Church in Franklin, NC together. She and Bill are like family to me and my husband. It is painful to give her up but we know Norma is well again and probably teaching a Bible story to someone. Love you Bill! David and Judy Stiles

May The Holy Spirit comfort the Marsh family at this time. I had the privilege of knowing Norma all of my life, as well as her parents and brother. There were no finer people anywhere. Norma will be missed, but those that knew her know for a fact that she is presently in heaven with Jesus. Her life was a testimony to Christ's love.
