Reginald LIGON Obituary
passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Bayfront Hospital. He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana and graduated from Honey Creek H.S. and Indiana State University. He graduated Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in 1975 and was owner and operator of Ligon & Ligon D.D.S. P.A. until 2015. He was a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Sigma Pi Phi Boule, The Suncoasters, and many other community and civic service organizations. He was an active member of McCabe United Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving family, wife, Dr. Mendee B. Ligon; three children, Attorney Shannon Alexis, Dr. Reginald Brian, Evan Deanza Camille; and sister, L. Michelle Ligon. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017, 11 am at First Baptist Church, 1900 Gandy Blvd North.

The Bible says Love is stronger than Death: My very first memory of Dr. Ligon goes back to seeing him dropping the kids off to school in the Morning Shannon, Brian and then years later Evan as I was dropping my Daughter off at School Wellington Private School, Always greeting me with a warm smile and a Good Morning. Family you will find that people you love may leave you outwardly but, they never leave you inwardly. Peace be with you.

Mendes words could never express what you and your family mean to me. First the passing of Jewel now Reggie is ripping at my heart. The bible says as sure as we are born we shall die and to rejoice in death. I can find comfort and peace in knowing that they are resting safe in God's arms free from all their pain and suffering. My prayer is that you and your family can find comfort, peace, healing and strength in knowing that God has granted them Grace, Mercy and Favor over their pain and suffering here on earth, they have been restored and will be waiting to continue this journey with you on the other side, please know, this is only a pause in the journey not the end. Remember that God knows your pain and He will carry you and your family through these difficult times. What a friend we have in Jesus all our sins and griefs to bare, oh what a privilege it is to carry everything to God. So just embrace all those wonderful and precious memories until you meet again.
