Richard Hickman Obituary

HICKMAN, Richard Andrew left us on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011. He originally joined us on July 25, 1959, and lived a full and rewarding life for 52 years. His passions included music, his bass guitar, his Corvette, astronomy, his family, the beach, photography, NASCAR racing, traveling, good times with his many friends, a good meal, and a cold Miller Lite. He was son to his loving mother, Sandra Mohler, and her husband Arlen Mohler. He was brother (by-another-mother) to Penni Mulder Hees (Dan), Julie Mulder Algood (Steve), Sarah Mulder, Beth Mohler Sherk, Amy Mohler Isel (Chris). He was Uncle Richie to Tyler Mulder, Melanie Mohler, Laura Mulder, Isaiah Isel and Tommy Isel. Many others remember Richard's unique sense of humor, his loyal friendships, his acute intelligence, his 30-plus years with the City of Tampa, and his tender, generous heart inside the gruff exterior. A Celebration of Richard's Life will be at Marsicano Funeral Home, 4040 Henderson Blvd., on Monday, Dec. 19th, 4 pm. If you would like to help fight ALS (Lou Gehrig Disease) in Richard's name, a contribution to the ALS Association would provide research and services to ALS patients. Make online contributions to www.alsafl.org or mail to 3242 Parkside Center Circle, Tampa, FL 33619. Strike out ALS! For Richard, the score is God - 1, ALS - 0.
