Spoke with him and a family member once. My father and he both went to Hillsborough High School and it was mentioned that he was somewhat of a Big Football Star. Second or Third cousin of my father Carl D Shawver, my sincere condolences to the family. In the world of Love, Peace, Harmony and the unknown, Mr. Richard Shawver passed away on my Birthday-12/28. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Sending love and sympathy to the family. Fond memories of the book study at your home on Edison back in the late '60s, and stopping at Bo's Ice Cream.

Our deepest sympathy to our many friends in the Shawver family. We fondly remember how Richard energetically contributed his skills to building places of worship, as well as constructing our house in a beautiful country setting, which our family has been enjoying for over 37 years. May God grant you pleasant memories and comfort until you will be reunited with him.

65 Years ago, Richard did me a great favor. He loaned me his white dinner
jacket when Emily and I were married. In the last few years we have had many deep spiritual discussions. He was a deep thinker.
Looking forward to many more as we discuss the 'New Scrolls' when they are opened. P.S. Emily went to Hillsboro High School when he was there. Love to Donna & family. Avis Family

So sorry to hear of the loss of a dear old good buddy who knew how to have fun and yet keep things in perspective. Enjoyed many competitive football, basketball, darts, volleyball games, etc. and Big Rick would lick his fingers and play ball then give you a big hug afterwards and talk about how the game went and the strategy that worked or didn´t.
Was a kind and generous friend who loved his family friends and most of all Jehovah.
See you soon. Love and condolences to family.

Richard was a dear friend of mine. We had countless discussions on spiritual matters, he and I would talk about unseen things and allow our minds to ponder possibilities about Jehovah´s purpose for mankind beyond the thousand years of Christ reign. He had a brilliant mind balanced with a delightful sense of humor. Richard loved his God, his family, and was a gentle giant of a man. I truly look forward to seeing him again and will be right behind his immediate family to welcome him back to a paradise earth.

I only met Butch a few months ago. "A preachers kid huh?" He said to me grinning ...and so we began a great sharing moment. He immediately was inviting, kind and so very warm . He was easy to talk with and shared what I thought surely where a few of the BEST moments of his youth ! How he met his girl, his life at Hillsborough High as a Football standout (to a Tampa girl out of HB Plant I loved it) college ball, his own self proclaimed fun character! how his life was so strongly guided by his faith in our God, people, his family -and friends-we all know he hand many! This man didn´t know a stranger. His girl settled him heart mind and soul. They had a beautiful family and in all appropriateness, he laughs at the time to come... as he prepares for the way.
He touched my spirit and I´m proud to have met him.
He made me better in 15 minutes -more like 45- we know him right?
Love to all who loved him and celebrate a joyful spirit !!
