HERB, Robert "Bob" On Sunday, February 13, 2022, Bob Herb, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 72. Bob was born August 21, 1949, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Robert and Lillian Herb. He received his Bachelor's degree from the College of William and Mary, where he played football. After graduation, he moved to Manassas, Virginia and worked in the Fairfax County school system as a teacher and coach for 35 years. Upon retirement, he moved to Seminole, Florida and decided to coach eight more years. Bob dedicated his life to giving and serving. He touched thousands throughout his career as a teacher and coach, and as an avid scuba diver and dive instructor. He dedicated his later years to cooking and serving meals for the people at Pinellas Hope. He was a parishioner and usher at Blessed Sacrament Church. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Bob; his mother, Lillian; and his brother, John. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Seebacher Herb; his son, Bobby (Sherri); daughter, Heather Herb Butler (Scott); four grandchildren, Braden, Jake, Ryan and Kolby. He is also survived by his brother, Jim (Covi); his sisters, Louann Shrader (Pete) and Jane Deasy; and sister-in-law, Sue Herb; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Monday, February 28, 2022 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 11565 66th Avenue North, Seminole, Florida 33772, at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Pinellas Hope Catholic Charities, PO Box 40430, St. Petersburg, Florida 33710-0430, Attn: Lou Ricardo.

Oh how much I miss Herbie! Each time I walk into the stadium at William & Mary memories of playing and working out with Bob are forever present. When I see his action picture displayed in the stadium it reminds me of how much I loved the guy for what he loved in the game and life. I still yearn to hug and butt heads with Bob. He will never be forgotten!

Just learned of Bob's passing at William & Mary Homecoming last weekend. Bob will be remembered during his W&M days as a fierce competitor, extremely hard worker and an awesome teammate! I played right guard next to Bob (center) and he taught me much about the game. If I'm not mistaken, Bob was a Jacob's Blocking Trophy recipient and he earned All-America Honors.
