Miss you Dad

Walter Woolf

September 25, 2010

I was privileged to know Bob Lehner and his devoted family since 1979 when the Lehner family and their pets moved to Tampa ,Florida from Upper Saddle River, NJ.

When Bob and Jane and the family pets visited our veterinary practice, I looked forward to visiting with Bob, and discussing anything at all with fervor and passion. Although I am a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, and Bob a lifelong NY Yankees fan, it did not get in the way of our relationship and our friendship.

I was further privileged yesterday afternoon to attend the "going home" service for Bob at St James UMC in Tampa Palms.

Bruce, Michelle, and Steve spoke glowingly of their Dad .. a truly accomplished human being who enjoyed hearing about what you had accomplished, rather than he.

Bob Lehner will be missed, as all those who have passed on, yet he leaves behind a legacy of values embodied by his children, and their children.

What could a man be more proud of than his family. To Jane, Bruce, Michelle, and Steve, my heartfelt condolences at the loss of a husband, a father, and a grandfather.

Walter M Woolf, V.M.D.

I light this candle in memory of Bob Lehner, a great friend to my parents, Ruth and Dick Murray. I know they will miss having him in their lives.

Jane and Family - So sorry you have lost Bob. I just saw his obituary in the Dispatch and Jim Rownd and I cannot make calling hours or his service at St. James. We will keep you in our prayers at this most difficult time. Sincerely,
Jim Rownd, Sigma Chi, Ohio State

Bob was my marketing manager in 1979 in the office products division. He used to ride with the marketing reps and make sales calls with us. The first time Bob rode with me ,we were heading up to Brooksville and while he was sitting next to me he was going over his paper work and memos. He would read them and crumple them up and throw them on the car floor.I asked him "what are you doing?" His reply was, "I only try to handle paper work one time." From that day on I began doing that also. Bob was a very positive person and always motivated his sales people to do better. I was fortunate to have worked for him.
