Robert Lindner Obituary

LINDNER, Robert Harold, 85, passed away March 29, 2005, at LifePath Hospice House in Sun City Center. He is survived by his wife, Ziomara; sons, Robert and Steven (Elizabeth); stepsons, Raymond (Jodi) and David (Diane); daughter-in-law, Susan; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a great-granddaughter soon to arrive. He was preceded in passing by his wife of over 50 years, Margaret; his son, Bruce; and an infant daughter. Robert was born February 16, 1920, in Grand Rapids, Mich. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1942 and was a World War II veteran. Robert resided in Ann Arbor, Mich., and Ypsilanti, Mich., where he was an educator with Ypsilanti Michigan Public Schools for 30 years, retiring in 1980. He taught industrial arts at Ypsilanti High School, was assistant principal and guidance counselor at East Middle School, and was principal of Chapelle and Begole Elementary Schools. He frequently accepted additional responsiblities, such as faculty advisor to the student cou ncil, faculty representative at sporting events, Junior Achievement Advisor, and union representative. A memorial service will take place 11 a.m. Friday at the United Community Church, 1501 LaJolla Ave., Sun City Center, FL 33573, (813) 634-1304. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Empire, Mich. The family requests donations to the church in lieu of flowers.

Mr Lindner, may you rest in peace. Through your guidance, you gave many people the basic tools to work with through their lives. I am forever indebted to you for giving me the skills to pursue a good living. It was a real pleasure to have you for a high school teacher, and someday we will meet again.
