Robert Melone Obituary

MELONE, Robert R., of Lake Placid, formerly of Rockford, Illinois, passed away January 8, 2004. He was born to Francesco and Clara Melone, April 8, 1928 in Berwyn, Illinois. Mr. Melone was a graduate of the University of Illinois with a BS & MS in Mechanical Engineering, was a member of the Scholastic Honorary Societies of Sigma Tau and Tau Beta Pi, and held numerous patents in his career. He was a devoted husband and father. Survived by his beloved wife Ilona, loving sons, Robert and wife Vicki, Tampa, David and wife Elizabeth, San Anselmo, California, Mark and wife Adriana, Alpharetta, Georgia. He was blessed with and dearly loved his 6 grandchildren, Sophia, David, Connor, Haley, Marin and Aiden. He is also survived by his brother, Vito and wife Carmelina, dear sister-in-law Mary Melone; brother-in-law, James McNellis and many nieces and nephews. His love and tender ways will be greatly missed but cherished in the hearts of those who loved him. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 3380 Placidview Dr., Lake Placid, on January 24, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. Funeral under the direction of Scott Funeral Home, 512 Deen Blvd., Lake Placid, (863) 465-4134.
