Dear Cloer Family,
I am the editor of the newsletter for the Essex Photo Club formerly the West Essex Camera Club. Today I received an article from Joe Thomas who knew Russell Cloer from their years together in photography clubs. Following is a quote from the article to appear in the September 2008 issue of the Essex Photo News. "Russell Cloer was well known to a handful of our present members. He was one of the best darkroom workers in the state, winning several NJ Federation Print of the Year competitions. A college track star, Russ was director of engineering for the Curtiss-Wright Corp and was a highly decorated World War II veteran." Members of our club offer our heartfelt condolences to his family.

Dear Cloer Family,
I am sorry to hear about your loss. Even though I never met your husband, and father, we corresponded for some time. He was a tremendous help with a book I was writing on World War II which includes his personal experiences.
He was the kind of man America needs more of. I know he will be missed by his family and friends. You are in my prayers
