You are still remembered and so loved. We still talk about Daddy and our memories. We still miss you every day. Thank you for all you did for us. Thank you for your permission to continue to live life. Know that you will always be my Russer, the first man to ever really love me back. I dont come back to this site much, but did today for some reason. We love you. See you later.

It has been a year as of this past January. I have not been able to view these comments until now. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Cassedy is doing well. We miss him. Our Russer and Big Daddy. We got each other's jokes, often knew what each other were thinking, went through a lot of tough times, had a lot of fun, and were blessed with our precious gift from God, our Sweet Pea. I am blessed that he loved me.

I only came to know Russ through his big brother soon after I moved to FL about a dozen years ago. I quickly learned that Russ was a tremendously talented, successful and hard working family man. This last chapter of his life proves his enormous drive and zest to live life to the fullest. He is now in a well deserved better place and may he rest in peace.

I love my Uncle Rusty. He had a strange and wonderful sense of humor! I usually couldn't tell if he was joking or not. He loved his family so much. Uncle Rusty was always there for family despite working 700 hours a week. I was scared to take my car to a guy interested in buying it from Craig's List. Russ left his busy business and came with me to protect me from getting taken advantage of. I also shaved my legs for the first time (about 5th grade) at his house. My parents were not there and I thought this would be a great idea. I sliced my shin open with Rusty's razor I found in the shower and started to bleed. After several hours of bleeding, I had to go tell him. He must not have ever told my parents on me because they don't remember. I loved hearing his stories about his neighbor too, hilarious! When I was little, Rusty would tell me not to tickle his feet. This was of course a challenge. I loved to tickle his feet! He would laugh and I felt like a winner. It took many years before I realized that he liked having his feet rubbed (tickled) and he would keep up the laughs to keep me tickling. This Christmas Rusty picked out a Snoopy on a sled for Jake (he loves it). This will remain in my family like the Snoopy Uncle Ricky gave either Benj or I as a kid and the honey bear Grandpa Wolfe gave me. It is not the gift itself but who chose it and why. I am so thankful for the many memories and feeling of love that I received from him. Cassedy took the spot of youngest grandchild from me when I was 32! We waited soooooo long for her. What a blessing this child is to the family. I see half Rusty and half Lara when I look at her, a perfect combo. I look at the pictures of him and Cassedy, what a twinkle in his eye and pure joy in his smile. I have so much respect for his numerous qualities like being a provider, his work ethic, his engineer mind, but mostly for the loving accountability to all his family, quiet but strong support, and his clever humor. I miss him.

I will always remember Rusty being a great family man. When we were visiting and able to attend Cassedy's birthday parties, it was obvious what a proud and happy father he was. He was always fun to be around and very welcoming. I could always tell how much enjoyment he had from just being around family. He will never be forgotten.

Uncle Rusty, You are and will always be missed by so many. I think about you often, and the memories that I have of you. I will always remember your sense of humor and the fun that you always had being around your family. You were loved and respected by all of your nieces and nephews. I have always had a love for sports, but I can definitely say that I feel that I attribute a huge part of my love for Notre Dame football, the Indianapolis Colts and the Indy 500 to you. When I was growing up, I'll never forget how I thought it was so cool that you got to go to the Indy 500, and couldn't wait until I got older to be able to go. I'll never forget eventually going to two Indy 500's with you and watching a couple others on TV with you and Lara. You were a great Uncle, husband, father and brother. Rest in peace and I can promise that you will never be forgotten.

Rusty, Today is Valentine's Day and I feel that a huge part of my heart is gone since you left this world almost 4 weeks ago, already. You are so missed by your family that is left behind. It helps to know that you are at peace and surrounded by LOVE in the presence of our Lord and so many of our family. I know they were thrilled to welcome you home. I want to wish you Happy Valentine's Day - you have a piece of my heart with you. Love you always, your oldest sister

I have lost a best friend and brother. Bad choice of words, he isn't lost I know where he is. We shared so many good times at sporting events, a vacation in Hawaii, working on home projects, renovating a 1960 Austin Healy, fishing and just kicking back with good food and cool spirits. His friends became my friends and my friends became his. He lived right, fought the good fight and deserves this final peaceful rest.

My Uncle Rusty will be missed by many. He had a positive effect on the lives of many people, including me. He had a very good work ethic, but was also a fun person to be around. I remember the fun I had as a child when he took me ice fishing and also when he took me for a ride in his Cord convertable (before he moved to Florida). He was also a good family man, I remember him always willing to help my mother out and when our house needed work he was always there to help. I will miss him always but at least I know he is now with God, his Mother and Father, his Brother Ricky, and my Mother (his Sister, Kathy).

All I can say about Russ is that he was a genuinely great guy. It was always a better day for having spent time with him. His integrity, ingenuity and dedication were without question. His sense of humor and how he used it was without compare. I know there will always be times when I will reflect on a time when he made me laugh so hard it hurt, and most of those times I was the subject of his humor. One of his greatest gifts was to humble you with his humor. He will be missed but never forgotten.

I will always remember Uncle Rusty for how intense of a person he was. His eyes matched his spirit. Very loving very supportive . I will never forget how special and proud I felt as he walked me down the isle on my wedding day, then dance to " My Girl " by the Temptations. He made the day VERY SPECIAL for me. I've missed not living close to him in the past years, and will always regret not spending more time with him, Lara and Cassedy. I take comfort knowing he is in heaven with his Father, Mother, Step Father, Brother and Sister. I loved him with all my heart and always will. Rest in peace now Uncle Rusty

I remember Uncle Russ for his subtle, but sharp sense of humor... Ganging up with Uncle Kenny to give me the warmest of welcomes at the dinner table when I first met the family. His eyes that always reminded me of Grandma Joyce's. He will truly be missed.

I am so grateful for Uncle Russ. Growing up in central Indiana, I knew whenever he came to visit, we were going to a race somewhere. He was always a voice of reason and encouragement. He gave me a place stay, when I moved to Florida. Russ demonstrated the same sincerity and love to my wife and son. I am amazed by his creative talent. His tools ranged from sandpaper to multi-million dollar machines. If Russ could visualize it, he could create it. I am grateful for the time and memories we shared. We all miss him.

Uncle Russ was a wonderful uncle. I will always remember his sense of humor, his love of family, his love of racing including the Indy 500, and his love of all things Notre Dame. He was always a very generous person. I remember staying with him and Lara one night several years ago and he had to go out and get New York strips and lobster to grill for us. He definitely didn't need to do that but that was the kind of guy that he was. He was just a really cool uncle and I will miss seeing him deeply. RIP, Uncle Russ.

Russ will be missed by many, myself included. I first met him as my customer at AmSouth Bank many years ago. We chuckled when we realized that his nephew Ben was married to my sister Ann. It's a smal world. May he rest in peace in the arms of Jesus. I send my love to Lara, Cassedy and the entire Wolfe family.
