Ruth COHEN Obituary

COHEN, Ruth Baron, of Tampa, formerly of Hollywood, FL, passed away Tuesday, April 24, at the age of 93. She was pre-deceased by her adoring husband, Murray (Morris). Ruthie is survived by her daughter, Susan Homan and son-in-law, Richard; her daughter, Marilyn Spiegel and son in law, Michael; and her loving grand-children, Brett Spiegel, Todd and Andrea Homan, Sean and Sarah Spiegel, Dean and Karina Spiegel, and Lauren and Donna Wilson. She enjoyed her four great-grandchildren, Ryan and Luke Homan and Connor and Adrian Spiegel. Ruth's smile helped to light up the world. She has pseudo children and grandchildren throughout the East Coast who are deeply feeling the loss of her sparkle and grace. Wherever she lived, Mom was involved in the community, whether volunteering in schools, being president of Hadassah, or president of the residents' council at Weinberg Village. She will most be remembered for the all-embracing love that was truly unique to Ruth. She leaves a huge hole in the hearts of many. The funeral service will be held at noon today, Thursday at Levitt-Weinstein Beth David Chapel, 3201 NW 72nd Ave., Hollywood. Shiva will be on Thursday at 199 Palm Ave., Miami Beach. Shiva will continue on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in Tampa at 3404 Country Woods Ct. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's memory may be made to Friends of Weinberg Village c/o Director Dan Sultan, 13005 Community Campus Dr., Tampa, FL 33265.
