Sabina Redden Obituary

REDDEN, Sabina A. Rogalski "Sally," 90, died Sunday, August 15, 2010, at Memorial Hospital of Tampa after a brief illness. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia L. Tish Redden of South Tampa; grandson, Robert M. Webber of Largo, Fla.; her brother, Stanley Rogalski of Lynn, Mass.; her brother-in-law, Edgar Hart of Milpitas, Calif.; and family friend, Mark Capwell of Largo. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, retired U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Donald Kirby Redden. Born in Lynn, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Marianna (Milewski) Rogalski. Sabina was a graduate of St. Michael' s Polish Catholic School in Lynn and Classical High School in Lynn. During World War II, Sabina worked for General Electric Com. in Lynn alongside her sister and brothers, preparing instrumentation for aircraft used in the European and Pacific Theaters of Operation. Sabina also worked at Rexall Drug, Kagen-Loun Shoes, and for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. Also during World War II, she was a member of the Little Hour of Charm, a group of young women who sang at local hospitals and United Service Organization' s benefits in the Boston, Mass., area. For more than 30 years she was a South Tampa resident and a communicant of St. Patrick' s Catholic Church. Throughout her husband' s Air Force career, she traveled with him to assignments at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware; Dow Air Force Base, Bangor, Maine; Oxnard Air Force Base, Oxnard, Calif.; Anderson Air Force Base, Guam; Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Miss., Homestead Air Reserve Base, Florida; and MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. Also preceding her in death was an infant son; her sister, Mary Monica Rogalski; her brothers and their wives, Henry and Felicia Rogalski, Joseph and Gertrude Rogalski, and Walter and Eleanor Rogalski; sister-in-law, Irene Grabowski Rogalski; her brother-in-law and his wife, Frederick and Josephine Redden; her sisters-in-law, Doris Redden and Elizabeth Redden Hart; and her nephew, Frederick J. Redden. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Doris Rogalski of Marblehead, Mass.; 13 nieces and nephews; nine great-nieces and nephews; and four great-great-nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers,

memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Patrick' s Catholic Church, 4518 S. Manhattan Ave., Tampa, FL 33611. The viewing will take place

7-9 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at Brewer & Sons Funeral Home, 3328 S. Dale Mabry Highway. A funeral Mass of Christian burial will take place at

10 a.m. Thursday, August 19, at St. Patrick' s Catholic Church, with interment immediately following at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Funeral arrangements are made by Brewer & Sons Funeral Home.
