To Sage, you will forever be in my heart and mind. I'm so sad that I won't be able to hang out with you again, but I know we will all see each other again in another time and place and life. Please accept my deepest condolences. Though Sage and I have not been very close in recent years, I have very fond memories of the good times we shared. His loss breaks my heart. I am very sorry to not be able to attend the services. I would have rather paid my respects in person. I was heartbroken to learn just yesterday of Sage's passing. He was the most brilliant fifth grader I have ever had. I have thought of him often over the years and so enjoyed the two times he came back to visit me. A few years ago Sage was retracing his roots and came back to Ozona Elementary again. I had such a great time talking to him. I will cherish the memories I have of Sage. He was a unique and gifted young man. My prayers are with all of you.

Dr. Kiesel,
I have worked with you for over 17 years, and through you have come to know Sage. I did get to meet him a couple times when I drove him home from Ozona Elementary. I cannot image the loss and grief that you feel in losing your only son. I just want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, and Summer. May you feel God's loving arms around you in your grieving, and know that he loves and cares for you. He knows and feels your grief, as he too lost his only son once.

I did not know Sage but losing any loved one is difficult, losing a child changes your life forever. It will be 7 years next month since I lost my 19 year old son and I would not wish this pain on anyone. Know that time does heal. You have a long hard journey ahead of you but one day will be able to be happy with the many beautiful memories you have. You will laugh again. Though I only know Dr Kiesel vaguely (he treated my son years ago)you are all in my thoughts and prayers.Compassionate Friends is a great organization for parents that have lost children. It helped me a great deal. Stay strong.
