Rudolph ALLEN Obituary
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Allen, of Tampa, who passed away Jan. 5, 2016, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 9, at 11 am, at Tyer Temple United Methodist Church, 3303 N. 15th Street, Tampa. Pastor Geraldine Christopher will be officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. He was the fifth of eleven children, and preceded in death by sisters, Oletha Jackson and Annie Lee Smith; and brothers, William Allen Jr., Clifford Allen, Ulysses Allen, Leroy Allen, and Thomas "Bobo" Allen. He graduated from Don Thompson Vocational Senior High School, where he earned his legendary nickname, "Peter Rabbit," then matriculated to Florida A&M University. Rudolph's careers included working as a merchant seaman, a deputy at the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, various with Delta Air Lines, and acclaimed, post-retirement W. Tampa establishment, Peter Rabbit's Barber Shop. Survived by daughter, Rhonda C. Keith; sons, James Allen and Gabriel Allen; sister, Dr. Margaret Allen Fisher; brothers, Theodore Allen and Woodrow Allen; nephews, Pedrick Allen, Thomas Allen, Keith Allen, Albert Jackson Jr., Clifford Allen, George Allen, Dewey Smith, Charles Smith, Dewitt Smith, Sean Allen, Adonous Allen, Adrian Allen, Albert Jackson III and Ame;re Jackson; relatives and friends. Visitation for Mr. Rudolph Allen will be Jan. 8, 5-7 pm, at Tyer Temple U. M. Church and family will receive friends 6-7 pm, at the Church. Arrangements entrusted to RAY WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, Rhodes & Northern, Owner.
