I didn't know him very long, he was one of my boy scout leaders when I first moved to Brandon from Jacksonville, before moving back to Jacksonville. I got the most rank improvements under him than any other scout leader I ever had, a truly great man who cared more for his fellow man than anyone I have yet to meet. My only regret is I could not show him I finally kept my Promise to make it to Eagle Scout.
Rest In Peace

To all family members, my most sincere condolences to each of you. I got to know him, on both a professional and personal level, while he was Jail Division III Commander. I had the utmost respect for him. He kept his military days low key. A very proud and quiet man. He did so very much for the youth in the Brandon area. God bless you all.

Steve was not only a dear friend but he was my son's Scoutmaster and served a mentor to my son and many other youngsters in Brandon. He can truly smile down at us from heaven knowing that he truly made a difference in the lives of the many, many people who knew and loved him and in this community where he worked tirelessly to make it a great place to live.
