I just heard of Steve's passing at our 57th High School reunion.
We always wondered how he was and what he was doing hoping someday he'd return to Fall River for a reunion.
He had many admirers in our Class of '65. I was among them.
Thank you for your service. Rest in eternal peace, Steve.

A few days ago I was mixing concentrated Simple Green with water. As I poured the concentrated solution into the bottle, I swore I heard you over my shoulder saying, "Ayieee! Enough! Enough!" So I stopped pouring. Immediately! Love you, Dad. Thank you for the ongoing (and clearly needed) instruction.
Funny stuff!

Oops. Forgot to mention that Steve was the kind of guy who wore a peace patch on his flight suit when flying a B52. He definitely marched to his own drum.
He often told me that the most important thing he did in his life was to be the father to his two daughters. He talked about them and their accomplishments every time I spoke with him.
He was a kind man who sometimes wrapped himself in gruffness, trying to disguise his vulnerabilities.

When I was born, brother Steve had already been around for 5 years. He knew the ropes, the neighborhood and, when I got a little older, he taught me how to cross the street well.
It's odd to think that I knew him longer than I've known anyone on this planet...except for my big sister! They were my oldies, my elders, my black and white TV.
I'll miss Steve's friendship, kinship, daily text messages commenting on the weather or what was on Turner Classic Movies that night. And of course his ever-expanding collection of pictures of ducks...always ducks.
I used to call him Marlin Perkins - Mutual of Oldsmar's Wild Kingdom. He laughed. We both did. We both laughed a lot and I'll miss that, too.
Happy Trails my brother -
off to Cornbread in the sky,

We feel as though we knew Steve although we never met him. We have heard so many things about him from is loving sister Chris who spoke so fondly of her "big bother." We also feel the pain that accompanies his sudden and unexpected loss and will keep his loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.

As the big brother in a family of five siblings, Steve was a person you could always count on to give you advice or to make you laugh. He was eccentric, sarcastic, and caring. A great combination.
