Theo was a high school classmate. Alpena, Michigan Catholic Central High School (CCHS) class of 1955. 80/85 classmates. 70 years/7 decades - June 2025. CCHS opened in 1951 - our freshman year. The students came from the three catholic grade schools in Alpena. St. Mary's (Polish), St. Bernard's (Irish) and St. Anne's (French). Theo was from St. Mary's. I was from St. Anne's. I remember Theo as being smart, pretty, outgoing and popular. A very fine person. Theo held many class offices during our high school careers. Theo's dad was a doctor. Candidly, Theo was better positioned financially than most of us. That said, what Theo was not was pretentious. Like all high school classes we scattered after graduation. I can't recall connecting with Theo after high school. Through mutual friends I learned that Theo and Dale settled in Alpena where Dale was the general manager of Abitibi.
Final thoughts about Theo. People don't change. I'm sure that family and friends who knew and enjoyed Theo over her lifetime would attest that she displayed the same qualities throughout her life that were apparent and predictable more than 70 years ago.
My wife, Barbara, and I will attend the memorial service on February 15, 2025.
