Theodore STARCH

1935 - 2021

STARCH, Theodore Lewis "Ted" died October 21, 2021, with his loving family by his side in Palm Harbor, Florida. Ted was born in New Jersey, April 14, 1935. He attended schools in Clifton, NJ, until he enlisted in the USMC. He was stationed in Argentia, Newfoundland. He met his wife, Joan Broshart, in Point Pleasant, NJ, and they were married August 13, 1955. Recently, they celebrated 66 years of marriage. He cherished his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His children are Jeffrey Starch (Theresa), Jill Byrne (Kevin), Lorrie Marantz (Rich), and Kim Starch; grandchildren, Nicole Dattoma (James), Brittany Henley (Jonathan), Tyler Byrne (Sarah), Jeff and Lorin Starch and Jade Marantz; great-grandchildren, Kaiya, Abigail, Madison, Finn, and Hannah. He is also survived by his brother, Ken and his family of Sydney, Australia; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gail and Dennis Ciszeski of Florida; and nieces and nephews in New Jersey and California. Ted took one trip to Florida and knew he would live there the rest of his life. The family moved to Dunedin and he owned and operated Klip and Kut, a lawn service business. His next position was Facilities Manager for Goodwill Industries. The last years of his life were the happiest, serving the community as a Pinellas County Crossing Guard, with his post located at East Lake High School. He truly loved this position and felt it was a privilege to serve "his kids" and the community. He will be remembered for his love, his sense of humor, and his loyalty. He will be missed and loved forever.
