Tony Alfonso Obituary

ALFONSO, Tony C., 91, of Tampa, entered into rest February 16, 2009. He was born in Tampa, and was married for 69 wonderful years to his beloved wife, Solia. He served in the U.S. Army and was later self employed. His passions were his family and his flowers. He was a loving husband, father, grand- father, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Alfonso Bollea; a grandson, Michael Alfonso; and two of his sisters, Carmen and Melba. He is survived by his wife, Solia; his three sons, Tony (Sharon) Alfonso, Andrew (Brenda) Alfonso, and Eugene (Katherine) Alfonso; his two daughters, Diana Alfonso and Solia (Keith) Pettys; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; his brother, Manuel Alfonso; his two sisters, Teresa Barrios and Gloria (Joe) Romano; his four sisters-in-law, Dora Harris, Bertha Simpson, Josie Smith, and Jenny Tretel; and his special nephew, Peter. The family would like to thank "our cousin, Rose, for always being there and talking with me." A visitation will take place 10-11 a.m., with a funeral service to be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, February 20, 2009, at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 W. Brandon Blvd, Brandon, Fla.
