Virginia Cox Obituary

COX, Virginia Bell

passed away peacefully at St. Marks Village in Palm Harbor, Florida, October 25, 2024.

Virginia was born in Lancaster, Ohio to George Washington Sells and Florence Ankron Sells on March 26,1926. She grew up living the farm life with eight brothers and sisters, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She graduated from Lancaster High School and went on to attend Ohio State University where she earned two degrees, one a bachelor of arts degree and the second a bachelor of fine arts. At Ohio State she also met the love of her life, Raymond H. (Sam) Cox. They were married for 69 years. He predeceased her in 2018. For many years she enjoyed her winters in Tarpon Springs, Florida and her summers in her beloved Harbor Springs, Michigan. She always looked forward to visiting her Sells family at Jeff's farm on their trips between Florida and Michigan. She was able to attend a Sells reunion there in 2019. Virginia loved life, especially golf, bridge, painting, dogs and her kids. She always encouraged us in any direction we chose to pursue. She was our cheerleader in life! She is survived by her son, John Phillip Cox (Susan); daughter, Constance Sue Needles (Mike); three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She She will be interred at Florida National Cemetery with her husband. A private memorial service will be scheduled.

We will always miss her spunky, bright attitude. Love you always, Mom!
