Wesley Evans Obituary

EVANS, Wesley D. "Jake," of Land O' Lakes, passed away April 29, 2005. Born November 9, 1932, in Bartow, Fla., he was preceded in death by his wife, Beth Gardner Evans. He is survived by his son, John Wesley, and his wife, Kathy, of Jupiter; a daughter, Cynthia Adena Vogel, and her husband, Karl, of Swanton, Ohio; four grandchildren, Paul Evans, Chris Evans, Robert Vogel and Sara Vogel; and three cousins, Mary Virginia Handley, Becky Johnson and Burton Grant. Wesley loved the outdoors, fishing, cattle cows and entertaining his family and friends. He was a graduate of Hillsborough High School, class of 1950, a graduate of the University of Florida, class of 1956, and belonged to Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Prior to retirement, he was a rancher at Lykes Brothers for over 30 years. Jake was elected a deacon at Tims Memorial Presbyterian Church, was a member of the "Empty Nesters" and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2005, at Tims Memorial Pres byterian Church in Lutz followed by interment at Garden of Memories in Tampa. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Gulfside Regional Hospice, 6117 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey, FL 34652, or Tims Memorial Presbyterian Church 601 Sunset Lane, Lutz, FL 33549.
