Xyla Plummer Obituary

PLUMMER, Xyla Walker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, passed away January 14, 2007, after battling an illness for several years. Xyla was born May 2, 1934, in Harlan County, Ky. She married her high school sweetheart, Phillip, January 12, 1952. Xyla and her mother moved to Florida in 1953. She and her husband opened and operated two successful restaurants, The Village Restaurant and Plummers Family Restaurant, in Seffner for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Davis; granddaughter, Brittany Long; and soninlaw, Jerry Manning. Xyla is survived by her loving husband of 55 years of marriage, Phillip; daughters, Patricia Manning, Phyllis Windham (Kendall), Paula Plummer (fiance, Nelson Jefferson) and Amanda Bergren (John); son, Phillip Jr. (Patricia); grandchildren, Lisa, Jerry, Jeremy, Charles, Wyatt, Katherine, Johnna, Victoria and Chase; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Devin and Justin. Mom, not a day will pass that you will not be loved and dearly missed. Her children would like to give a special thanks to their Dad for the wonderful, loving care mom received during her illness. A very heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff members of JSA Medical Group. Thanks for their loving care of Mom. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send donations to LifePath Hospice, 3010 W. Azeele St., Tampa, FL 33609. The family will receive friends at 4 p.m. January 20 at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow at 5 p.m. Following the service, there will be a fellowship reception at Plummers Family Restaurant, 11762 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd., Seffner.
