It is with sadness for those who loved and supported Patricia (Patty) Ann Rogers in so many ways that she passed from this life on November 4, 2025, just after the rise of the full moon. We trust she is journeying toward the clear light of eternal love and into God's hand, and pray her spirit will be at peace. Where Patty truly is, we do not know, but our love is with her always. It is some comfort to think we may meet again in the beyond. Patty is survived by her immediate family, son Sean Dean, daughter Mara Dean, Mara's son Dion, and life partner Bill Blackmore. Patty was born in 1944 to Betty Jean and Lewis Rogers. In college, she studied theater, and then changed her major to Social Work, after being inspired by the profound positive effects of street theater with children. After receiving her degree, Patty worked as a Clinical Social Worker for the State of New York, and also as the clinical director of The Bridge Back, a drug and alcohol abuse rehabilitation facility. Patty loved to read just about anything and collected almost every book that came her way, from Doonesbury to Shakespeare and Dickens. Truly, she could be called "the bookworm's bookworm." Patty was a lifelong lover of English country dance and contra dance, and of folk music. She was also a homesteader and organic gardener. She worked as a baker at an ashram she stayed in for a while. This is not a complete list of her many interests and accomplishments by far! Of great joy and spiritual sustenance for Patty have been her involvement with St. James Episcopal Church (in Taos), Rocks and Clouds Zendo (in Santa Rosa, California, by Zoom), and Ksitigharba Tibetan Buddhist Center (in Taos). They have all brought her great joy and love! Patty had a great love of life and all beings and wished all beings peace, love, and true happiness. Patty was a wonderful wife and friend. Patty's love and joy were overwhelming. She brought many back from the brink of despair with her joyful and indomitable positive attitude. Patty's stalwart spirit, her love of life and her faith aided and protected her. May her love live on. Through many health challenges over the years, including rheumatoid arthritis, most especially recently, Patty fought "like a trooper," until her 80-year-old body gave out. She died peacefully at The Denver Hospice in Colorado. May her love and faith give all courage and strength to meet life's challenges.
