Cecelia Amora

Cecelia (Celia) H. (Felag) Amora (Chmura), 96, died peacefully in her sleep, Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Arbors of Taunton. Born in Fall River, she grew up in Somerset and was a long-time resident of Taunton. Cecelia was the daughter of the late Joseph F. Felag and Nellie (Pokraka) Felag, and was the wife of the late Stanley J. Amora, with whom she shared fifty-nine years of marriage. She was a communicant of Holy Rosary Parish. She was educated in the Somerset Public schools. Cecelia worked as an inspector at an ammunition factory in Fall River during World War II. In her younger years she enjoyed seeing many of the Big Bands perform at Roseland Ballroom and was quite the dancer. After the war she was employed for several years as a secretary at Ansonia Mills and Swank, Inc. She spent many years as a homemaker. Cecelia was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter and grandchildren, she had the gift of gab and could make anyone feel at home, she was very artistic, enjoyed drawing, painting, and sewing, she was an expert shopper and bargain hunter, and enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox. She was the beloved mother of Patricia Amora-Pender and the loving grandmother of Bethany F. Pender and Kevin S. Pender, all of Brookline, NH. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Cecelia was predeceased by Bertha Felag, Frances Felag, Walter Felag and his wife Alexandra, Mary and Walter Bzdula, Bridget Amora, John Amora, Helen and Stephen Guliy, Cecelia and Fred Cichon, Edna and Fred Kulpa, and Joanne and Wilfred Ducharme. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend funeral services at Crapo Hathaway Funeral Home 350 Somerset Ave, Taunton, MA on Thursday January 4 at 8:30 a.m, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Holy Rosary Church at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
