Lucia R. Lucy Rego, age 64, of Taunton, passed away passed away peacefully on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Wedgemere Healthcare in Taunton. Born in St. Michael, Portugal on October 11, 1954, she was a loving daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Moreira) Medeiros. Lucy moved to the United States in 1968, settling in Taunton and was educated in Taunton Schools. She had worked at Eureka Manufacturing in Norton, a division of Reed & Barton and was formerly employed at Cochran Shoe in Stoughton. A communicant of Saint Anthonys Church in Taunton, Lucy loved shopping at the Silver City Galleria and will always be remembered as an independent woman. She was the devoted sister of John L. Rego and his wife Maria of North Dighton, Rose M. Ornelas and her husband Carlos of Taunton, Lidia M. Rebelo and her husband Jose of Taunton, and Tony Medeiros and his wife Carol of Taunton and is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews. Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 28th at 11 a.m. in Saint Anthonys Church, 126 School St., Taunton. Burial will follow at Saint Josephs Cemetery in Taunton. Visitation will be held prior to the services on Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Taunton Funeral Home, 8 Crapo St. (Off Route 140, Tremont St.) Taunton.
