Scott DeCastro Obituary

Scott DeCastro, 60, of Taunton passed away on December 4, 2020, while visiting family in Maine. Scott was born in Taunton on June 17, 1960, to Avis (Chace) DeCastro and the late William DeCastro. After high school, he worked at Texas Instruments before starting a lengthy career in masonry. Scott was a master of his craft in both commercial and residential settings. In 1987, Scott and his family moved to Maine. Scott was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and all Maine had to offer. In 2000, they returned to Massachusetts to be closer to family. Scott was extremely generous with his time and talents. He possessed the ability to be able to fix anything from a furnace to a carburetor, from an electrical outlet to a broken water pipe, from a boat motor to a leaky roof. Scott loved his family and friends and was the first person everyone called when they needed a helping hand. He would often laugh and say, "I can fix anything but a broken heart." Scott will be deeply missed by both his immediate and extended family. He is survived by his wife Sharon (Gosson) DeCastro; a daughter, Jaime (DeCastro) Menne and her husband Marcelo Menne of Taunton; a son, Scott DeCastro, Jr. and his wife Renee of Taunton; four grandchildren, Dakota, Makenna, Trey, and Gabriel DeCastro; brothers William DeCastro and Peter DeCastro; sisters Carol (DeCastro) Wilkerson, Helen (DeCastro) Sylvia, Marjorie (DeCastro) Galuski, and Pamela DeCastro. Scott was also brother to the late Janice (DeCastro) Sullivan, Craig DeCastro, and Rufus DeCastro. In addition, Scott also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Services are being held privately.
