Mrs. Audrey B. Hunter

Mrs. Audrey B. Hunter passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital. Mrs. Hunter was born Audrey Bernice Wilson on September 17, 1928 to McKinley E. Wilson and Mary M. Thompson Wilson in Leon County, Florida where she spent her formative years.

The wife of the late Dr. Samuel A. Hunter, Mrs. Hunter moved with her husband and family from Tallahassee, Florida to Indian River County in 1965. The Hunters made the Gifford Community their home for over fifty years.

Audrey Bernice Wilson Hunter was a woman of few words, who possessed a depth of knowledge and understanding, a discerning spirit familiar to those who knew her best. She set an example and left a lasting impression in the hearts of many through her work in the church and community.

A Visitation is planned for 4:30 - 5:30PM for the Family and 5:30 - 6:30PM for the public, Friday, July 23, 2021 at New Bethel AME Church, 1920 38 th Lane, Gifford, Fla. 32960.

A Celebration of Life and Home Going Services will be held at 1:00PM, Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 4405 43 rd Ave., Vero Beach, Fla. 32967.

A block of rooms has been created at the Holiday Inn Express in Vero Beach for the Hunter Family arriving on Friday July 23rd and departing Sunday July 25th at the discounted rate of $99+tax per night. A Visitation is planned for 5:00 - 6:00PM for the family and 6:00 - 7:00PM for the public on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at The Strong and Jones Funeral Home Chapel, 629 W. Brevard St. Tallahassee, Fla 32304.

Interment will be at 2:00PM, Thursday, July 29, 2021 at the Tallahassee National Cemetery, 5051 Apalachee Pkwy, Tallahassee, Fla. 32311.

Masks are required at all settings.
