Calvin Anderson Obituary

Calvin Lee Anderson, 54, also known as "Tom" and "Kelly," died Feb. 26, 2011, at his home. He was born in Stuart. He was employed as a landscaper and worked for a local lawn maintenance establishment. He was of the Protestant faith and attended the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ in Stuart. He was educated in the public schools of Martin County. Survivors include his sisters, Judy and Pamela Anderson of DeFuniak Springs and Jackie Avilla of Port St. Lucie; and brothers, Cleveland Thompson of Palm Beach County, Michael Thompson of Port St. Lucie and Raymond Anderson of Immokalee. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maybelle Thompson-Atkinson; sisters, Pauline and Paulette Thompson and Patricia Holmes; brothers, Richard Thompson and George E. Atkinson; and maternal grandparents, Arthur and Pender Gibson Thompson. Services: Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. March 5 at Thorne's Mortuary Chapel in Stuart. A celebration of life will begin at 3 p.m. at the chapel with his brother, Deacon Michael Thompson officiating. Arrangements are by Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart. A guestbook may be signed at thornesmortuary.com.
