Clyde William Morrison

CLYDE WILLIAM MORRISON (BUD) Clyde William Morrison (Bud), 89, passed away September 24, 2008 at Indian River Estates Medical Center, Vero Beach, FL. He was born November 16, 1918 Braintree, Massachusetts to Archie T. and Mary I. (Strathdee) Morrison. He married Aurie R. Willis June 12, 1948, in East Braintree, Mass. Mr. Morrison was co-founder, with his parents, of Electro Switch Corp. in Weymouth, MA. He was past president of Weymouth Rotary Club, served on the boards of: So Shore National Bank, Weymouth Savings Bank, Weymouth YMCA, and was past president of the board of South Shore Hospital, member of Quincy Chamber of Commerce, and member and past president of Cohasset Golf Club. Mr. Morrison was referee for the South Shore Church Basketball League and was coach of the First Congregational Church basketball team of Braintree, and during college, ran the Braintree Civic League for basketball. In Florida, he continued to serve the public. Serving on the advisory board for buying land and building a county golf course, Planning and Zoning Board for the town of Indian River Shores, he supervised the building of John's Island West golf course and the rebuilding of the clubhouse. He served on John's Island Golf Committee, was involved with the building of Orchid Island Club and general building projects, and also served on the North Hutchinson Island Water Conservation Committee and with the United Way, in Vero Beach. Mr. Morrison is survived by his wife, Aurie; daughters, Karen Lewis and Kathy Carnow of Fayetteville, GA, Karol McGee (Jack) of Claremont, NH, and Dr. Kerry Morrison (Robert Croke) of Warwick, MA; sons, Kevin (Jo Anne) Morrison of Hanson, MA, and Keith (Nancy) Morrison of Palm Coast, FL. He leaves five grandchildren, Dennis (Rebecca) Morrison, Angela Lewis, Katelyn Carnow, Casey W. Morrison and Joel Carnow; three step- grandchildren, Dr. Tonya (Lewis) Harris, Tracy Lewis, and Dawn Salvaggi; three great-granddaughters; a step- grandson and step-great- granddaughter; sister, Alice Olson of North Huntingdon, PA; and brother, Archie T. Morrison, Jr. of Falmouth, MA; and many nieces and nephews. At his request there will be no services.
