I will always remember the times on the water and the many dinners our family shared together. Your family has always helped me through some difficult times. I hope I can do the same for you. Wade and Betty, I am so sorry and there are no words to truly comfort you. Bix was so good to me during some rough times I had. He stood by me and defended me and was always concerned of my well being. Even after he moved to Panama he emailed me so often and called everytime he was home. I know he loved me and I loved him. We had some really good times together and he was a kind hearted soul. He will be missed and you are to be blessed in all your kindness.

I am not sure where to start. Cousin Bixie has been in and out of my life many times since i was a child. i spent this weekend in the outerbanks. i sat on the beach on new years day and as i looked out to sea i smiled. i knew he was looking down on me. he always put a smile on my face when we were together. our many conversations: at my condo in va beach, on "whatever boat" he was currently navigating, walking on the beach in hatteras, or standing in his kitchen with my husband eating the biggest tastest shrimp ever...i will always remember your words of encourament, & your laughter. I will always love you bixie, although it saddens me to hear of your death, i hope your soul as at peace. Love, Cousin Ginny

To the entire Aycock family,
I am deeply saddened by the loss of Bix, and extend my sympathies to all of you. Bix touched many lives and has provided each of those people with positive memories.
Your trust and confidence in Bix at an early age allowed him to develop strong seamanship skills, fishing and diving ability, and levels of self confidence and self reliance far beyond his years. These skills were the envy of his peer group.
Your family had a positive influence on your son and all of those with whom you came in contact. Wade, I still think of you each time I build a fire in the fireplace CORRECTLY (vertical logs) and Betty, I can't pick up a cast iron skillet without remembering that this is the ONLY kitchen implement in which chicken can be properly fried.
I have many, many great memories of good times spent with Bix. Captain Bix will live on in our hearts and minds.
Thank you for raising him and thank God for loaning us Bix for a little while.
My entire family's prayers are with you.

Dear Wade and Betty,
I'm so sorry to hear of Bix's passing. He is the first friend I ever made in Stuart. Always like Bix, he reached out to me, when I was a new kid at school. You all made me feel so welcome; thanks for that!
We had a few great talks about a month ago, and I was so encouraged by his faith. I am so grateful for Bix's friendship. He is still my dear friend; he's now healed and safe with the Lord, and I so look forward to seeing him again.
I love you guys, and your entire family is in my prayers for God's comfort to be on you all.

Bix was a real sweetheart in high school, as nice as could be and cute as all get-out. What a treasure, and too short a time with us. Please accept heartfelt condolences from all in the Mauger family. You will be in our prayers.

I really don’t know what to say, but I will say this, Uncle Bixie was a great person, and truly filled with love. I have so many great memories that I will keep forever in my heart. He was always there when someone needed him, and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. He brought a wonderful son into the world, and left behind a beautiful and caring wife. He will be deeply missed by all!
I love you, and miss you!

Bix was a great friend during high school. He taught me how to drive a standard so I could help drive to gymnastics camp in GA and TN over the summer. He always made me laugh. I am sorry for your loss and wish I could have met his wife and family.
