Diane Enns Obituary


DIANE DYE ENNS Diane Dye Enns, 78, of Fort Pierce, Florida, died December 28, 2012, at Abingdon at Tradition, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Enns was born September 19, 1934, in Fort Pierce, daughter of Kenneth Robert Dye Sr. and Mary Lucille Thompson Dye. She was a graduate of Fort Pierce High School, class of 1952. She attended the University of Florida and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Mrs. Enns was a devoted Mother and homemaker and worked as bookkeeper at The Enns Insurance Agency for more than 20 years. Diane was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Parish and a founding board member of St. Andrew's Episcopal School. She was a member and past President of the Poinciana Garden Club, and was a former Treasurer of the Fort Pierce American Little League. Her hobbies included floral arranging, reading, cooking, and gardening. Survivors include her children, Stephen Kenneth Enns and his wife Barbara Mesiti Enns, and Edward Gladwin Enns Jr. all of Fort Pierce; Mary Margaret Enns Knight and Susannah Glenn Enns of Greenville, SC; grandsons Stephen Edward Enns, Zachary Nicholas Enns, Edward Gladwin Enns III, John Andrew Reed Knight, and Jackson Turner Knight; sister Ann D. Price of Dacusville, SC and brother, Kenneth Robert Dye Jr. of Florence, SC; sisters-in-law Susan Enns Stans and Catherine "Katie" Enns. In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Edward Gladwin Enns, who died in 2006. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 3, 2013, from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Yates Funeral Home, Fort Pierce Chapel. A Funeral Eucharist Service will be held Friday, January 4, 2013, at 11:00 am at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Fort Pierce with the Rev. John Liebler, Rector, officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Memorial Park, Fort Pierce. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church, 210 South Indian River Drive, Fort Pierce, Florida 34950 or to the Treasure Coast Hospice, 5000 Dunn Road, Fort Pierce, Florida 34981.
