EDWARD BURKHEAD Obituary


EDWARD W. BURKHEAD Edward W. Burkhead, 84, born March 15, 1930, died November 27, 2014 in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Mr. Burkhead was born in Baltimore, Maryland on March 15, 1930. Master Sergeant Burkhead served 2 tours of duty during the Korean War, and married Mildred in 1952. Ed and Millie lived in Indianapolis and Clayton Indiana before moving the family to Stuart in 1970. Edward worked for Grumman's Aircraft for 19 years and for the last 10 years worked for Family Preservation Services in Ft. Pierce until October this year. Survivors include daughter Arletta Vance of Port St. Lucie, FL; sons Daniel E. Burkhead Port St. Lucie, FL, Thomas W. Burkhead of Zephryhills, FL and Rocky L. Burkhead of Port St. Lucie, FL; 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Ed was one of 6 children and is survived by brother Howard Arenz of Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. Burkhead is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mildred Evon Burkhead. Edward will join his wife at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, FL later this month. Services to be held Saturda,y December 6, 2014 at Haisley Funeral Home 2041 SW Bayshore Boulevard Port Saint Lucie, FL 34984. Viewing 10 AM until Noon with service directly after. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral Home. An online guest book may be signed at www.haisleyfuneralhome.com
