Fred Allen Obituary

Fred Ordway Allen, 93, of Jupiter died Sunday, May 15 at his home. He was born in Rochester, N.Y., and he and his family moved to Florida in the late 1920s after having spent winters in Delray Beach for many years. He lived in West Palm Beach for many years before moving to Jupiter. He was the owner of the Guaranty Warehouse in West Palm Beach and owned many apartments, storage units and property there. He served in the Army in Japan and Korea. He was a member of the Elks and the Prop & Sail Club in West Palm Beach. He enjoyed fishing since he was a little boy and always had a boat. His wishes were to have his ashes spread in the ocean. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Jeanne; four sons, Glenn Allen and wife Geneva Swensen of Virginia Beach, Va., Bill Allen and spouse Sam Wrock of Jupiter, John Allen of West Palm Beach and Dan Allen and wife Valerie of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Kathy Allen Bondonese and husband Gene of Palm Beach Gardens; a sister, Susan Mederos of Melbourne; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. A gathering of close friends and family will be at his home from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 18. Arrangements were by Edgely Cremation Services of West Palm Beach.
