I had the pleasure and privilege to work with George both with Pickands Mather and Cleveland-Cliffs. What I appreciated most about George was his strength of character. He was a true gentleman and always treated people fairly and with respect. His ability to interact with our steel company partners and customers, to gain their trust and respect, was fundamental to helping the company weather difficult market conditions.

We will always think of George as quite simply, one of the nicest people we have ever met. Others have commented on his ready smile. We were near neighbors for many years, and our children became friends of their kids, Our love and sympathy to George's family and friends. He was a wonderful person, and his abilities and character were clearly recognized throughout his life. Richard and Ann Gridley

Although not having seen George but once or twice since we left Cleveland in 1977, my first memory of him is that I dont ever recall seeing George without a smile on his face. He was a pleasure to be around because he always made you feel better than you felt before you ran into him, and he was for sure, a wonderful person and a lot of fun. As Lynn noted, George evolved from a great family, not the least of which includes his brother Rusty, my life long dear friend and usher in our wedding. to whom I send my thoughts and prayers---likewise to Sara.
I hope your many wonderful memories wll help you both through this difficult time.
