John F. McCarthy

Stuart, FL

John F. McCarthy, Jr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his residence on May 7, 2016.

He was born in Arlington, MA., to John F. and Helen (Murphy) McCarthy. Prior to retiring he was a Pipe Fitter for Local 537 Boston, MA. He has been a full-time resident of Stuart for over 13 years. John was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Stuart and was a 4th Degree Knight in The Knights of Columbus. His hobbies included Golfing, Boating in Amherst, N.H., Traveling and Bowling.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Marie McCarthy, his daughter, Melissa McCarthy of Willington, MA., his sister, Carol Sampson (Barry) of Lexington, MA. his cherished grandchild, Dylan John, and his many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his son, John McCarthy, III in 2009.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 20, at 10 AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Stuart, with Fr. Jack Barrow, officiating. Memorial Contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association P.O. Box 96011 Washington, D.C. 20090-6011 in John's memory.
