John Molesta Obituary

John Thomas Molesta, 86, died March 29, 2011, at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. He had been a resident of Vero Beach for more than 50 years, coming from Grand Rapids, Mich. He was the owner of Molesta Floral in Grand Rapids. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a naval aviator instructing fellow pilots on F6F hellcats for carrier landings. He was a parishioner at Grace Episcopal Church, and a longtime member at Cascade Hills Country Club in Grand Rapids. He was a resident of the Racquet Club in Vero Beach. He attended the University of Michigan. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Catherine (Cappy); sons, Tom Molesta of Nashville, Tenn., and Dave Molesta and Bob Molesta, both of Grand Rapids; sister, Patricia Molesta of Vero Beach; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA/Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960. Services: A memorial service will be at a later date in Grand Rapids. Arrangements are by Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach. A guestbook is available at www.coxgiffordseawinds.com.
