I was thinking about John yesterday when I went to his Facebook page and was so sad to see the obituary that was posted by Jack. I have such fond memories of John from my days of working with him at Evans & Moxon. I was only 20 years old when I started working there. He and Joe took me out to lunch for my 21st birthday and they bought me my first official glass of wine as an adult. He would take us out for rides at lunchtime in his awesome convertible cars that he loved so much. I would tease him about how he liked to open up cans of soup and eat them without cooking them. He said it went back to his survival days from being in the Service. I said it was just plain gross! :) He had a tremendous love for his cats and I loved taking care of them when he would go on vacation. He was there for me in so many ways and I don't think he ever knew how fondly I felt of him and my time I spent working for him. He was such a kind and giving soul and was very good to me. I lived in the renovated "Coop" at 20 N. Main Street, and those years were truly some of the ones I cherish the most. My deepest sympathies go out to his entire family. John was a good man, he and Ping raised a beautiful family and he will be truly missed.

We have very fond memories of John during the early seventies when we had the wonderful opportunity to live in the beautiful "Red House" on the Berroscir property of John Sr. and his lovely Rosamond.

I will always cherish the time I spent with you and Jane on the farm. My thoughts and sympathies are with Jane and rest of your family as I am sure the loss of such a wonderful man has brought them much grief. Thank you for your kindness, your service to our country, and thank you for sharing your life with me. Love always, Lydia
