Joseph Kingfield Obituary

JOSEPH P. KINGFIELD Melbourne , FL Mr. Joseph P. Kingfield, 84, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday October 30, 2006 at his residence in Melbourne, FL. He was the husband of Hazel M. Kingfield; they had been married for 65 years. Born in New York City on November 10, 1921 he was the oldest son of the late Joseph and Ann Kingfield. Joe was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He also had a very fulfilling professional career in the Aircraft and Space industry retiring as Vice President of Quality Operations for Grumman Aerospace Corporation. Joe was very proud of his accomplishments with NASA in the Apollo Lunar Module program. The American Quality Society awarded him as a fellow lifetime member. He was a devoted and loving father and grandfather during his life and was the cornerstone of support and guidance to everyone in the family. Surviving in addition to his wife are his two sons Donald Kingfield of Jensen Beach, FL; Arthur (Joanne) Kingfield of Naperville, IL; five grandchildren: Jamison, Melissa, Darrel, Lauren and Katie; a sister Maura Kingfield of Naples, FL; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Kingfield was preceded in death by his brother Edward Kingfield and sister Ann Fioretti. Interment services will be private. Memorial services is being planned for a later date
