Joseph Noga Obituary

Joseph Noga "Jimmy Roberts"

Jensen Beach, FL

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Joseph Noga of Jensen Beach, FL on October 4th, 2015 after a two year battle with cancer. Joe is survived by his loving wife Diane of thirty years, his mother Mary and brother Garry of Palmyra, PA. Joe was passionate about his career of 40 years in broadcasting and is known in the industry by his on-air name of Jimmy Roberts. Jimmy began his career at WKBO Harrisburg, PA, then on to WPRO FM in Providence, RI followed by WROR in Boston, MA. In 2000 he relocated to Ft. Myers, FL to WOLZ and most recently at Coast 101.3 in Stuart, FL as the morning on-air personality and program director. It was in Ft. Myers that Jimmy lent his broadcasting talents and support in the fight against pediatric cancer by producing and implementing the "Kids with Cancer" radiothon for the oncology unit of Lee Memorial's Childrens Hospital. This was one of his most gratifying accomplishments which continues on today. He will be dearly missed by all. Contributions in his memory may be made to: Treasure Coast Hospice 1201 SE Indian Street Stuart, FL 34997.

I remember Big Jim Roberts from his radio days back in the 70's. Knew him personally as well. Very talented and loved by all. Great memories from the "good old days", here in Harrisburg.

So sad to hear that Jimmy is gone. I didn't know him personally but like so many people on the Treasure Coast we woke up to him every morning and he was with us on our way to work. I recently wondered why he was no longer on the radio. My heartfelt condolences to his immediate family and his family of listeners. He will be missed.
