Joye Long

Joye Long, 84, died Sept. 26, 2011, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach. She was born in Shelby County, Ala., and lived in Vero Beach for 51 years, coming from Fort Lauderdale. Before retirement, she was employed by Kmart in Vero Beach. She was a member of the Democratic Women's Club of Vero Beach and a member of First Baptist Church, Vero Beach. Survivors include her sons, Johnny Long of Crestview and Kenneth Long of Vero Beach; and three grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011. Services: The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Sept. 29 at Aycock Funeral Home, Fort Pierce, with interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Fort Pierce.
