Kim Vaday Obituary

Kim Karleen Koho Vaday

Palm City - On Friday, February 19th the world lost an amazing woman with a kind soul. Kim Karleen Koho Vaday, of Palm City, passed away at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart after a 3 year, heroic hard fought battle with cancer. She was born in North Hollywood, CA on October 18, 1957, to Annmarie and C. Herbert Koho. Although she lived in many interesting places her heart always brought her back to Martin County. Kim leaves behind many people to mourn her loss and cherish the time they spent with her; including her devoted husband, Greg Vaday, her daughters Kourtney Hatten and Tiffany Bates-Kintner and her husband Andrew. Also left to mourn her passing and share wonderful stories are her mother Annmarie Koho-Huggins, brothers Brian Koho and his husband Don Schlosser of TN, Kyle Koho of Stuart and their families.

A 1975 graduate of Martin County High School, she worked at Martin County BCC for 13 years, the last 8 as a Commission Aide and always found the time and energy to help the Community. She also owned a pet food store in Ft. Pierce that helped many people properly care for their pets. Every year she helped with the Children's Home Society's Teen Holiday Program and various animal rescues. Although a lefthanded blonde, Kim had a quick mind, sharp wit, loved to laugh and dance, but only sang when alone. She had many wonderful friends and family who understood her humor, appreciated her impeccable sense of style and color, her need to clean and keep things organized, her need to help everyone and her amazing work ethic. Pandora will miss her visits too.

Services are private but please take a moment of your time to share a story about her exploits. We are asking that no flowers are sent, but once these trying times are behind us, maybe you would like to make a donation to Hospice of the Treasure Coast, an animal shelter of your choice or maybe just pass along an act of kindness to another person in her name.

This morning I woke up, & a memory of you taking Tiffany & I to the pool while pregnant with Kourtney popped into my head. I wasn´t sure why until now. I just opened my email to find a notification that today is 1 year since we lost you. It really shows how you are still with us & always will be. I made it back to Stuart last summer & was so happy to see Tiffy! Wish I could have made it back sooner, love you always Kim...

We are so sorry to hear about Kim! She was a beautiful person. She fought so hard to be able to spend quality time with her husband and children. She always shared how much she loved you and will miss you all. It was a pleasure to be a part of her care team at Jupiter Medical Center and I will certainly miss her beautiful smile and positive attitude. Please accept our sincerest condolences.

We met Kim a few years ago after I read a post from her brother Brian, an old classmate of mine , about a GoFundMe page for his sister who had cancer. I realized that this was one of our new neighbors down the street. My husband and I walked down and introduced ourselves to Greg and Kim . What great people! We knew Kim through her illness and I must say she handled the pain and enduring procedures with such grace, dignity and yes.. humor! We spoke of her illness and of death on many occasions . She did not want to leave Greg and her daughters. Kim, please know that we are here for Greg and we will be checking on him regularly . So until we meet again know that I am happy for you to finally be out of pain and with our maker . God bless , we wish we had known you sooner

I met Kim when I was at IRCC. We became instant friends and had so many good times together. I was also maid of honor at her first wedding. After she got married she moved to Hawaii, and I got married soon after and moved to Tallahassee. (Her brother Brian sang at my wedding!) Unfortunately with the distance between us, we lost touch with each other until about a year and a half ago and she was already going through so much at that time. She really was a great person and I’ll always have the great memories of the times we shared so long ago. ❤❤

I’ve known Kim since I was 5 years old. We spent many wonderful years & holidays together as our families became great friends. Her attention to detail, interior design & organization inspired me as a child. Now that I’m grown, with a child of my own, I find many things I do are because of her. She will always be so special to me. Love you always Kim.

Kim and I shared wonderful memories and I will never forget her. We called each other sisters because she didn’t see color. I got to spend time with her during her final weeks, we talked, we laughed, we cried, but most of all, we said I love you my beautiful sister. Rest in Heaven Kim, you touched many lives, and we will be sisters forever.
