Larry Harrah Obituary

Larry Calvin Harrah

Port St. Lucie - Larry Calvin Harrah passed away March 27, 2020 at Vitas Hospice in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. Larry was born to Irene and Jim Harrah in Red Springs, WV September 23, 1948. Larry was a life long educator who began his career as a travelling music teacher in Raleigh County, WV. Very soon after entering the educational field he became an ESE teacher and worked his way up through the ranks throughout his career. Larry retired as Executive Director of ESE and Student Services in Indian River County,Florida in 2012. This was an opportunity he worked to achieve his whole career and would say was his proudest and most rewarding professional experience as he received great satisfaction in doing all he could to improve the lives of ESE students. The results of his dedication were evident.

Larry's other great passion was travelling the world. He and Mark travelled far and wide with Italy being the favorite destination having visited that country 15 or so times.

Larry is forever loved and missed by Mark, by his family and by his friends.

It's still difficult to imagine that Larry is not with us. He was such a dynamic individual and very engaging. It was my pleasure to have Larry as my supervisor and I would consider him a friend. He was excellent with people and I'm sure he's missed by many, including myself

Larry was the supervisor everyone wants to work for. I just now found out about his passing. I am so sorry. He was a compassionate and caring person. He made many lives of special children and their families richer.
