Leo Bailey Obituary

Leo Bailey Jr., 79, died Oct. 16, 2011, at Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah. He was born in Fairfax, Ala., raised in College Park, Ga., and lived in Okeechobee. He was a Delta Airlines employee for 17 years at the Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport. He was a commercial airline pilot and retired with Pan-Am in 1989. He founded Ultama II Acrylic Fabrication in 1975 in Hialeah Gardens, which he ran with his son. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dorothy P. Bailey; children, Vickie Teagle and Gary Bailey, both of Weston, Sharon Ridpath of Oneida, Tenn., and Patti Pearce of Glades County; brothers, Ed Gilmore of Carlton, Ga., and James Gilmore of Peach Tree City, Ga.; 21 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Services: Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 20 at Vista Funeral Home in Miami Lakes. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Oct. 22 with the funeral to follow at Buxton-Seawinds Funeral Home in Okeechobee. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Okeechobee.
