Leonard "Len" Allman

Leonard "Len" Allman, 87, died Jan. 14, 2011, at Treasure Coast Hospice, Fort Pierce. He was born in Wilmington, Del., and lived in Fort Pierce for 26 years, coming from Newark, Del. Before retirement, he was a mortgage broker in Newark. He served as an Army medic during the Normandy invasion and at the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. He attended Temple University. He served as president of the Fort Pierce Wood Carvers Club and as a carving teacher. Survivors include his wife, Edythe Allman of Fort Pierce; daughter, Vicki Bradford of Dover, Del.; sons, Larry David Allman of Fort Pierce and Brian Allman of Los Angeles; stepsons, Daniel Repole of Port St. Lucie and Steven Repole of Elkton, Md.; brother, Allan Allman of Ventura, Calif.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Services of St. Lucie County, 1664 S.E. Walton Road, Port St. Lucie, FL 34952. Services: A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 21 at the Aycock Funeral Home Chapel, Port St. Lucie. Inurnment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Fort Pierce.
