Margaret Elaine McRoberts

It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Elaine McRoberts announce her passing on Sunday December 26th 2020, at the age of 96.

Margaret who was affectionately known as "Cookie" was born on February 13, 1924 in Vineland, NJ to Robert & Alice Cook. She attended Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA graduating with 2 degrees. She started her career as a school teacher in NJ and later became a flight attendant with TWA and moved to California. It was here she was introduced to the love of her life, John McRoberts via mutual friends on a blind date playing tennis. As it turned out, It was the perfect "match". They were married for 55 years until John's passing in 2005. Together they raised 2 children, Gary & Joyce McRoberts, eventually retiring to Vero Beach, FL in 1995. In 2018, she moved back to California to be closer to her children who helped take care of her during her final years.

Margaret truly lived life to the fullest. Besides traveling the country and world with her husband she was very involved in her church, loved to read, enjoyed volunteering in her community, walking on the beach, and loved a good competitive game of Bridge, Scrabble or Yahtzee. She nourished people around her with love and faith and she will always be remembered for her strong will, strength, selflessness and kind and compassionate spirit.

Margaret was preceded in death by her father, Robert Cook, her mother, Alice Cook, Her husband, John McRoberts and her sister Joan Stawitzke. She will be lovingly remembered by her 2 children, Gary & Joyce; 3 Grandchildren, Jason, Sophia & Celeste; her sister, Betty Foster and numerous other family members and friends.

A celebration of Margaret's life will be held in Vero Beach, FL in the Spring of this year, date and time TBD.
