Mathew J.J. Chenier

Mathew J.J. Chenier, 77, died Sept. 17, 2010, at his home. He was born in Cornwall, Ontario, and lived in Stuart and Palm City for more than 33 years, coming from Montreal. He was a veteran of the Navy, serving in the Korean War. Before retiring, he was an owner/operator of Monterey Goodyear in Stuart for 25 years. He was a member of the Stuart Council of the Knights of Columbus and Elks Lodge 1870, Stuart-Jensen Beach. He attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City. Survivors include of his son, Michael J. Chenier of Palm City; daughter, Carol C. Traversa of Annandale, Va.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rollande Chenier.
