My sympathies to the Fitzgerald family. I've thought of Mike often over the decades, and was deeply saddened to hear of his passing.
Mike and I had an early and instant connection, as we shared a birthday and were both left handed. At Phantom Lake elementary in Bellevue, we frequently sat near each other, with Mike ofte n maneuvering himself into the seat behind me. Once a month or so, he'd get little a twinkle in his eye. He'd start poking and prodding me until I'd have enough. When I turned around to tell him to knock it off, our teacher would inevitably yell at me, never Mike. We always had a good laugh afterwards about it. Happy to know he became a Pastor, because he had a devilish sense of humor as a boy.
I'll miss Mike, but treasure those memories of little league, cub scouts and riding bikes in our youth. Bill Woods - Seattle

My heart is saddened to read this. Prayers of peace go with you all. You inspired our young son when we moved to Rochester-"let's go see Pastor Mike." He enjoyed all your sermons and friendship before you moved to CA. Heaven is rejoicing along with many of Rochester Covenant's members, including our family member Rob Wixon. Blessings ~ Mary and Kerry Wixon.

I feel privileged to have known him even though for a short while. My thoughts are with his family and all those who he touched. I remember how much he cherished his grandchildren, to them a big hug and blessed memories. Cory Ybarra

Dear Cindy & Family,
I am so saddened and shocked to learn of Mike's passing! My thoughts and prayers are with you all. We have lost touch since I moved from Rochester to Phoenix in 1998. He was my pastor and Cindy you were my counselor. You both helped me greatly! Yes, our passion for baseball and trust in God will be there forever......
God's Peace,

So sorry for your loss. Robin and I remember Mike as a thoughtful easy to talk to guy with a subtle wit. He will remain as a memory in our hearts and minds.

Every day my mornings were made more meaningful by reading his FB posts. He allowed all of us to join him on his journey through this illness; sharing laughter and tears. I miss those daily connections. My heart goes out to Cyndy and family.
