Monica St. Clair Obituary
Vero Beach, FL
Monica Elizabeth St. Clair of Vero Beach, Florida, ended her battle with cancer peacefully on October 4th, 2016 at Indian River Medical Center. Born on September 9th, 1959 to Helen and Nicholas Trapp, she was originally from Richmond Hill, New York.
Monica attended Adelphi University, graduating in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science. She worked in information technology at St. Mary's Hospital for Children in Bayside, New York before becoming a full-time mother to her daughters Melissa and Mallory St. Clair. After moving to Vero Beach, Florida in 2003, she continued her education with an Associate's Degree in Nursing from Indian River State College. She was a psychiatric nurse at Port St. Lucie Hospital in Port St. Lucie, Florida at the time of her passing. Monica was a grateful friend of Bill and a mentor to many recovering addicts. Besides raising her two daughters, Monica's greatest passions were spending peaceful time at the beach, helping others, and alternative rock music.
She is survived by her two daughters, Melissa St. Clair of Orlando, Florida and Mallory St. Clair of Vero Beach, Florida; her brother Henry Trapp of Stormville, NY, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Monica will always be remembered for her spunky humor, heartwarming smile, and genuine character that guided her as a mother, sister, nurse, friend, and woman in recovery.
A celebration of life will be held at the Vero Beach Heritage Center on Sunday, November 20th beginning at 1pm. All are welcome to attend.

Just chanced upon this while looking up an old friend, and she was one of a kind. Many fond memories of our friendship forever etched in my memory. Ironic I see this on your Birthday no less. If I had to pick 1 memory it would be you surprising me with Floyd Tix for the Wall concert at Nassau coliseum 1980. You may be gone but certainly not forgotten CC

Hey momma. It's thanksgiving 2018. One of your least favorite holidays, particularly cause you never wanted to cook the turkey and lord knows you can't. Missing you harder today. Knowing you're here though, hugging my shoulder and ragging to your friends about me. I'll see you sooner than later, my inspiration and my gypsy.

This is Melissa - Monica's elder daughter.
Thank you to all for your kind words and memories. They have really helped me through some very rough times. I'm happy to say that myself and my sister Mallory (her younger daugher) are doing well.

I was very saddened to learn of your mom's passing, We were very close in College, and travelled to the OBX and the FL Keys together.
Life moved on and we lost touch, that is most unfortunate, but I see she raised a caring daughter and that is a wondrous legacy.

My mother Monica was the most beautiful and genuine individual I have ever known. While I am eternally changed by her loss, I am also motivated to carry on her legacy of compassion, humor, and love of living. For those who are wondering - her battle with cancer was sudden, short, and thankfully not very painful to her. Thank you to all who knew and loved her. So sorry for your loss. I had no idea that Monica was so ill with cancer.
